All boat competitions fish to the current Angling Trust minimum size retentions size limits for this area.

The club currently holds 10 competitions per year, these competitions are open to all members of the club. We have a dedicated Boat Match Officer who oversees the club competitions and collates the results for each competition . The boat section have adopted a photograph,  measure and return policy whereby all caught fish larger than the minimum retention size limit are measured and returned to the sea alive with exception to protected species and other species which have been excluded by the clubs "Methods of Fishing Rules". Each fish then has it's size converted in to points and added up at the end of the competition for each angler and the angler with the highest points wins the competition. An optional pool for biggest bag and heaviest fish is available on every competition.

All competitions fished during the year will count for the Championship with the exception of the xmas fayre which is classed as a social event
